My work is about time, places and spaces that exist as states of mind.
A recurring geometrically-based visual theme provides the physical framework around which reflections on these concepts can be articulated and become manifest in tangible form.
FLOW:the mental state of operation in which a person in an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and success in the process of the activity.
Tidal FLOW: capturing sequences of tidal movement within a film frame format to create a grid structure developing vertical and horizontal transitions.
The grid structure of the ‘Tidal FLOW’ series supports the transitional concepts of space and time. The vertical and horizontal movement of shapes and forms across the picture surface creates a pattern or sequence. This promotes an awareness of physical and chronological change.
